When hardboiling eggs over very high heat, it is helpful to have water in the pan.
There is much less popping and exploding.
Not to mention the smell.

Oh no! That so sounds like something that would happen to me!
Hope the rest of your day is a little quieter and better smelling ;-)
Yuck! I did the same thing while making hummingbird food today. Boiled it right down down to nothing. I'm sure this is nothing compared to the hard boiled egg fiasco.
Kate
I've done that!!!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ! Again...you are making me laugh today.
When I was pregnant I put something in the microwave and decided it needed a cover...I could not figure out why there were sparks.....duh!! I covered it with a metal lid!!
have a great day.

ewwwwwwwwwww!!
oops!!! Grace and I once tried to cook rice without any water... definitely not as messy or stinky, but disappointing to come home hungry and find that the food isn't ready!
that is totally something I would do - there is a reason why my hubby does most of the cooking around here!
ROFL! I know it was probably not funny, but I love the way you described it. Thanks for the chuckle. :)
