What do you think of blogs with ads?

Do you notice them?
Do you hate them?
Do you use them on your blog?

I know there are a lot of people who make money through their blogs, and I've been giving the idea some thought (but not enough to invest time in actually researching it!)

Plus I'm not sure that I actually have enough readers to make any money :)

I mean, I didn't start this blog to make money, it was just an outlet for me, and a way to make some friends since we move so often being a military family.

But now I wonder...

What's your opinion?

I don't pay attention to the ads. Ads alert me to the probability that the (Christian) blog is more for the praise of man than for the glory of God. I never know whether I'm getting an honest witness or a manufactured funny for the sake of numbers.

But then, I'm probably jaded having worked in radio and been a slave to the ratings.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do. :)

I didn't start my blog with the intention of EVER having adds on it, BUT then, we discovered a HUGE hole in our budget and we need to do everything we can to dig our way out of it.

rarely, I notice them. I don't think they've ever sold me anything though.

Mostly I dont pay attention to the ads! Thats not what its all about for me. My blog is a way to keep in touch with family who cant be involved in our lives anymore! And I love meeting other moms like me!

Ads don't bother me, as long as there are not so many of them that it's distracting. I think a few here and there are no big deal.

The way I look at it, is that we're all out here checking out each other's blogs, hopping around wherever the mood or the link leads us. Why shouldn't we get some of the ad man's dollars while we're at it?

Just my 2 cents.

i fought the ads thingimajog for years but then I realized it might not be so bad to cover my monthly hosting fees so i figured why not. i don't make much money on them but i feel giddy getting $2 checks in the mail once in a while..LOL.
