Welcome to the party! Brew yourself a fresh cup of coffee.
I thought we could start the party off with a little ice breaker. I'm sure most of you have played the game Two Truths and a Lie. If you haven't, here are the rules. I will say three things about myself. Two are true, but one is a lie. You have to guess (in the comments) which statement you think is a lie. After the party is done (March 8) I will pick a random blogger from those who guessed correctly, and that person will win a handmade mini scrapbook album!
Ready?
1. I once had a pet cow.
2. I had three different majors in college.
3. I got caught in a war while in a foreign country.
Now, to tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Southern California, and went to college at USC where I met my wonderful husband. He is in the Navy and I am so proud of him. Last year he spent 6 months in Afghanistan. We have three wonderful children, and I am a new homeschooler.
We currently live on the East Coast, are getting ready to move and buy our first house. Before this, we lived in Japan for three years.
My main hobby, besides napping and drinking coffee, is scrapbooking. Once we move I plan to start selling customized scrapbook products. I am also trying to lose the ton of weight that I gained in my last pregnancy.

This is fantastic! Although I don't know you at all, I'm going with statements one and two. The first one because my sister loves cows and the second one because I changed my major 5 times in college! lol Loving the party so far!

Oh and I thought the picture of your little one was great - I have my own little one - Aubrey Elise, she's 4 months and our first...I can totally relate to trying to lose the baby weight - what a battle! anyway, now I am babbling (can do this often) :)

I can totally believe you had a pet cow, b/c we named every cow we ever had (even when we knew they'd end up dinner someday).

That leaves getting caught in a war, but hey, that's believable too.

I have a Keurig too and I LOVE it. Though I use mine mainly for tea. Don't hate me. I love coffee, it just doesn't like me all that much, so I don't drink it often.
We just bought our first house almost a year ago. Being a home owner is great, I bet you'll love it! My husband is a Veteran of the US Army. Thanks to your husband for serving, and to you and your family for sticking by him during his service.

ReplyDeleteGreat game you've started here :) I'd have to say that #1 the pet cow is a lie -- only because you grew up in Southern California (do they even have cows in California?). Now if you were born in West Virginia like I was -- I'd believe the pet cow one.
And since your hubby's in the Navy, I'd say the being caught in a war while in a foreign country could be true. The 3 majors in college, well that's probably true too. Californians have a hard time making their minds up right?

Hello from another coffee loving mama! My glamour girls know that nothing happens around here until Mommy has had her coffee - I'm surprised that coffee wasn't their first words. ReplyDeleteI can't believe I haven't been here before...homeschooling, scrapbooking, and coffee??? Count me in! Except for the fact that I have completed ONE first year scrapbook and I have...ahem, FOUR kids!!! I also decorate cakes and cookies in my spare time (and by "spare time" I mean when I should be sleeping, or doing laundry or dishes, or other such nonsense.)

Congrats on the house! We're doing the moving buying thing, but it's not our first house.
And give a big thanks to your man for me. My dad was in the Navy for 22 years and I have to say that servicemen/women do not get enough praise for their sacrifice on our behalf. And have him give you a hug back. The families behind the our military are just as important!

Hi Christy-I love your blog and the way you carried the theme through to you labels on the side bar. I did something very similair myself. I would guess that the thing that is not true is that you changed your major so many times in college. The other things are just so out there that I can't imagine that you just picked them out of the blue. I'll be back to check in as I also am a new homeschooling mom and am battling the bulge.
