I need opinions on a very serious matter

One of utmost importance.

What to wear when I see Isaac for the first time in six months.

I've lost weight since he's been gone, but I like myself at a size 12- feel really skinny at a size 10- and am currently a size 16. There's a chance I'll be a 14 when he gets back, but I'm not counting on it.

Although I will be a 10 or 12 next year for the Seabee Ball, and then I'll be rockin the heels and formal dress, lemmetellya.

Unless we get surprised with another post-deployment baby.

In which case the only thing I'll be rockin is my poor knocked-up self while I vomit into a toilet.

But until then I have a few more curves than I want, and it's a thin line between looking nice and, Hey ya'll, come check out my boobs!

Anyway.

Here are some options:

black dressred dress

I like the idea of a dress, but who knows what the weather will be like? Plus I'll have all three kids with me, and it is a military flight, so we may get stuck for a few hours waiting, and I don't want to know how many times I'll have to bend over or pick up a child. So it doesn't seem very practical.

sweater coatwrap top

These are both options I could wear with dark jeans and my black boots. I like the style of the wrap shirt, but I'm not loving the pattern, though.

Any opinions? Anyone seen a fabulous outfit while you've been out shopping lately?

At first I was going to say the black dress because I love black, it's very elegant. After you mentioned the time that may lapse with 3 kids I would say the long sweater! Congrats on your husband returning. Our pastor just got back from a year at Lundstahl. He was a chaplain there. We are thrilled to have him back, especially his lovely wife!

I agree. At first it was the black dress, but all things considered I would go with the Sweater!

I say the sweater, it's very flowy and feminine and practical of course...or the red dress. Are your black boots like her black boots? If so, you'd mostly be all covered up. I think you'd look HOT and SEXY in red. And I don't think you'd have to worry about too much boobage showing!! *wink*

the black dress. I love dresses and they are comfy. Just wear a sweater over it (for barf protection) till he is coming through those gates!!!

besides...He will mostly be looking at your face as I'm sure he is missing it. AND I'm sure he will think you look great no matter what.

but definitely...the black dress.

It sounds like we have the smae body-type post baby. So, my recommnedation is the sweater. It is slimming and forgiving where needed. Also, be sure to wear a v-neck shirt underneath if you are still well-endowed from babies. They say a v-neck is best becasue is slims and elongates. Also, invest in a great bra, most women are wearing the wrong size bra and a proper fitting one will change the appearance of how your clothes fit. Most department stores will do fittings for free, or you can come over to www.theparkwife.blogspot.com and email me, I will tell you how to measure yourself. No matter what you wear, you will be the most beautiful woman in the world to Isaac.

The black dress is sold out! It hurts, it really does.

I was going to wear it for a date night when we go away for the weekend in January!!!

Hello!! I came across your site via the Pioneer Woman. We have so much in common :) Homeschool (which we start next year), scrapbooking, photography, coffee. I am also a Christian :) I too am a military wife although my husband is Army. Anyway, as for what to wear when your husband comes home, I say the black dress. It's classy and feminine. :) Have fun!!

I don't think Isaac is going to care what you have on!
I can't believe he will be home so soon...when I first started reading your blog I remember the number saying in the 100's and it seemed like forever!

I just looked at your Scrapbook pages...they are awesome!

I'm pretty sure Isaac will think you look fabulous in anything! I don't know how tall you are? I you're taller then the sweater will look fabulous - if you're a bit shorter, the wrap top might be really nice. But if you're not sold on the pattern then definitely go with the sweater :-)
